The Wrong Side of History?

Not just yet. This season isn't over. It has really just begun! A fresh start!

Sure, i was standing beside myself last night as Cy Young, asa Joel Pineiro, proceeded to shut down this offense that has been red hot these past 2 weeks. I mean, it had to come to a close. We can't expect this offense to keep up that pace forever.

Pedro pitched a great game. 7 strong innings when the team needed it most but yes, he was outdone by an underachieving but talented kid who pitched the game of his life. It just may be that no matter who the cards put on the mound in a big spot against the mets they turn into the next coming of, well i have to say it, Jeff Suppan.

Let's move on. Put it in the past. A clean slate. A new day. A new dawn. It is now the start of the postseason as my obsessed colleague pointed out earlier. Hang in there Coop. The wheel may be wobbling but it hasn't fallen off yet!

Tonight the Mets begin the 1st of 3 one game playoffs. Oliver Perez takes the hill against the much maligned Byung Yung Kim. This matchup is in our favor. Perez has pitched rather well of late and if he can go 7 strong and this offense can put up a few runs, i have confidence that the pen will hold down the fort. I can't believe i just said confidence, but i did and i stand by it.

Reyes needs to get his head on straight and bring that energy back that this team so relies on. If he can get on early and make things happen this team will feed off of him and maybe, just maybe we can get some positive momentum.

Do whatever it takes for you to get in a positive mindset, for me it's the knowing that my compnay brings in lunch on friday's. Stay positive! Hang in there. It's playoff time!

LET'S GO METS!
