Update: Philip Humber

In his last 4 starts for NO Humber has given up 11 ER in 18 IP, good for a 5.50 ERA. He is clearly struggling with his location (which used to be one of his strengths) as indicated by his 12 bb's and 1.61 WHIP in those starts.

..... I have to say this has been a very disappointng season for Humber, his first full season since recovering from Tommy John surgery. I used think this kid had a higher ceiling than Pelfrey but at this point it seems both of them will fall short of expecations. With both of the kids struggling the farm is lacking in major league ready pitching and I expect the Mets to make a stong push for the top FA arms on the market come this winter...Since winning the PCL pitcher of the week in late April, Humber has gone 8-6 with a 4.50 ERA. he's lasted more than 5 innings just once in his last 6 starts.
